Showem is an integrated content creation and production company. Whether it’s a TV series or commercial, a cinema ad, a magazine, an online social network or a facebook app, we continue to produce engaging entertainment across many different platforms.

Our in house creative unit of exec producers, writers, directors, designers and computer programmers works with our strategic partners and an eclectic network of freelancers to bring pioneering solutions to all our work.

Showem’s founder Simon Goodman is an executive producer, scriptwriter, format creator, producer/ director and cross platform media executive. Over the past twelve years, he has created over 100 hours of television programming for the UK and the US market, specialising in the areas of non-fiction reality programming and entertainment. Simon began his career in television and radio as a staff writer on Radio 4’s Weekending, which he also eventually script edited. His extensive TV writing credits include Mr. Bean – The Animated Series, Harry Enfield, Big Breakfast,Spitting Image and Get Up Stand Up. In his time at BBC Radio Light Entertainment as a producer/ writer he created the Radio 4 game shows, And I’m The Queen of Sheba and Smooth Talkers, and also regularly wrote and performed in a variety of spoof guises on BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends and BBC Radio 5’s You Cannot Be Serious. Simon also co-wrote the Men Behaving Badly book, The A-Z of Behaving Badly.

In 1998, Simon co-founded Gag Productions Ltd, an independent television format house that he grew into a fully-fledged production company, becoming the second largest supplier of programming to Challenge TV (Broadcast Indie Review 2005) writing, producing and directing over fifty hours of television. His credits include two series of the hit BAFTA nominated show Casino Casino for Virgin Media, which garnered record ratings for the channel; Public Property(30×30mins for ITV1); Something For The Weekend (Two Series and a Xmas special for C4). His programmes have sold internationally into markets as diverse as Korea, USA, Canada, Australia, Germany and Israel. Gag’s past client list includes Fremantle North America, The Gurin Company, United Media, Tiger Aspect, LMNO, Lion TV, Zeal Television, BBC Entertainment, ITV, ABC, ABC Family, VH1, MTV and MTV2.

Simon established Showem to further develop his own original work and to provide consultancy and production services to third parties. Under the Showem banner, he continues to write, produce and direct content for TV and online.

Simon’s previous careers spanned senior management roles in entertainment pr and marketing with clients such as PolyGram Filmed Entertainment and Warner Bros, as well as in publishing where he was the launch editor and then editorial director of a number of specialist national consumer magazines. Simon also currently serves as the Digital Media Consultant for members club Soho House.
